Research & Planning: Double page spread analysis

This is a double page spread from a pop magazine called top of the pops.
The colour pink has been used a lot on this double page spread, from this I can tell that the target audience has to be females because the colour pink has been labelled to females also it catches the female eye very easily. I think that this is aimed for females that are teenagers, I have chosen teenagers because of the childish stuff it is saying for example the masthead 'CRAZY ABOUT Bieber's body!'. Justin Bieber in this image is around the age of 14, the person who has created the magazine will not want females over this age looking at a young boys body they will want females the same age. Also just by looking at the page you can tell it is aimed at teenage girls.
The layout of this page is different. There is a big main image coming over the two pages, there is then three smaller images around the two pages filling in gaps and making it not look all like text. The text is then on either side of the main image, down the left side and down the right side. It is set out very neat and clear the way it has been put into boxes with titles above the box saying what information the box is containing. The masthead is usually across the middle of the top of the page, but on this double page it is across the top of the left page. This is still effective because it stands out because of the pink and black on the white background.
A medium-long has been used on the main image that crosses both pages of the double page spread. I think this has been used to show you that these two pages are going to be about the pop singer Justin Bieber. The way the title is 'CRAZY ABOUT Biebers body!' and then there is this big main image of him work together to let the audience know what it is about. Another medium-long has been used on Justin with his top of showing his body which also works well with the masthead, every thing on this double page spread has a purpose and a meaning and it all fits together and connects.
The introduction to the two pages is mostly simple said in the title, and you can tell as soon as you look at the page what it is going to be about. But then there is a little bit of text which is one sentence simply saying how the double page spread is going to say things about Justin's body and features. I think this is needed so if the viewer wants to know what the page is about to see if they would like to read on they can read a little introduction, but this should not give away everything the page contains.
